A streamlined, carefree 2012?
Here’s a new article
Brigitte Bardot Happy New Year! Last year, my New Year’s resolution was to be more spontaneous (I think it had a lot to do with being snowed in at that time). This year my resolutions are different. I might lose five pounds and I might stop drinking wine as often as I do, but I find the kind of I’m-going-whole-hog-healthy resolutions boring. Small vices make people interesting. Happy New Year!
Like Preston, I want to revisit, rethink and re-edit many aspects of how I live and do things. I want to change up my exercise routine, which is now centered around running and the occasional yoga class. I want to find new activities to do with my girls who are entering that tweenie stage where they are ready to try more grown up adventures. I want to streamline my wardrobe and settle into (at least for the most part) a kind of uniform, which started really taking shape this fall. And I want to streamline my home. Clean out the clutter accumulating in closets. Give away those dishes, linens, lamps, that are no longer in use. Giving things away slightly relates to my loftier goal–to give more to those in need this year.
I think if I start with my last goal first this month, I’ll be in good shape. And I’m convinced all these changes will make for an easier, more carefree way of living. How nice would that be?
